Becoming a true artist requires learning to connect with others and convey the inexpressible. Our program acknowledges there are many ways to build a musical career, and we support students in developing their skills across various professional avenues. Graduates emerge with exceptional artistry, prepared to enter the professional sphere through a customized curriculum that surpasses traditional conservatory training. Our alumni perform with New York City ensembles, chamber groups, contemporary music collectives, orchestras, and as soloists.
The Instrumental Performance Bachelor of Music program offers students intensive study with world-renowned performers and educators. Individual lessons are complemented by coursework in music theory, history, chamber music, and performance techniques. Students enjoy diverse performance experiences, including solo repertoire development and focused training in chamber, contemporary, and orchestral music. Performance opportunities include symphony orchestras, opera productions, chamber ensembles, percussion groups, contemporary music collectives, and jazz bands. Masterclasses with distinguished faculty and guest artists provide additional performance and learning experiences. The program also offers music business courses for industry internships, music technology studies, introductory music therapy, and other electives.
