For nearly six decades since 1965, our program has profoundly shaped cultural and artistic realms. Distinguished alumni feature visionary directors like Chris Columbus (Rent, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Night at the Museum), Melina Matsoukas (Beyoncé's Lemonade, Master of None), and Ryan Fleck (Captain Marvel), alongside groundbreaking filmmakers such as Karyn Kusama (Girlfight, Yellowjackets) and Jon Watts (Spiderman: Homecoming). The program also nurtured talents like editor Sally Menke (Pulp Fiction), cinematographers Rachel Morrison (Mudbound, Black Panther) and Ernest Dickerson (Do the Right Thing), plus influential TV creators including Vince Gilligan (Breaking Bad) and Damon Lindelof (Lost). Documentarians Nanette Burstein (American Teen) and Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me), along with Pixar animators Alex Woo and Andrew Coats, further demonstrate our program's diverse legacy.
