The Language and Mind major at the College offers an interdisciplinary exploration of human cognition through linguistic study. As a central pillar of Cognitive Science, this field has become a leading area of research, bridging connections between humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Mirroring this interdisciplinary nature, the Language and Mind curriculum combines coursework from three key departments: Linguistics, Psychology, and Philosophy. While focusing primarily on human language, the program extends beyond traditional linguistics by incorporating psychological research methods and philosophical analysis. This approach provides students with foundational knowledge to investigate innovative viewpoints regarding both language and cognitive processes.
