The rigorous undergraduate Global Public Health (GPH) programs offer CAS students an interdisciplinary approach, blending public health with another College discipline (GPH isn't an independent major), while leveraging faculty and courses from across the university. This innovative framework addresses the growing global need for public health professionals with cross-disciplinary expertise. The curriculum combines classroom learning with hands-on experiences and study abroad components, equipping graduates with versatile skills for diverse career paths.
This program delivers cross-disciplinary education that explores the intersection of society, culture, and wellbeing, building on Anthropology's distinctive ability to connect social sciences, natural sciences, and humanities. The combined GPH and Anthropology major enables students to evaluate cultural practices through a health perspective, investigate intricate connections across economic, political, cultural, physical, and biological contexts, and employ anthropological methods to public health challenges. The dual major readies students for multifaceted careers in various sectors and/or for graduate studies in public health, anthropology, or similar disciplines.
