The Honors Program is designed for anthropology students seeking to enhance their focus by completing at least 8 additional credits of specialized research and coursework. Applications should be submitted in the junior year.

Research endeavors may utilize archival materials, library resources, or original ethnographic studies. Previous research from study abroad programs or summer field schools may be integrated.

Projects typically result in a 10,000-15,000 word thesis, though alternative formats like video productions are permitted with advisor approval.
Honors candidates must deliver their completed research to both their primary advisor and secondary reviewer by April 1 of their final year. Additionally, students must publicly present and defend their work at an anthropology department colloquium attended by faculty and peers.
