The Global Liberal Studies (GLS) program offers a unique interdisciplinary bachelor's degree that examines our interconnected world through spatial, conceptual, and temporal lenses. By critically analyzing texts, cultural exchanges, urban environments, and evolving communication methods, students explore philosophy, history, politics, literature, and arts to understand contemporary challenges and shifting global dynamics. The program fosters intellectual flexibility, cross-disciplinary thinking, and the ability to bridge diverse perspectives. GLS emphasizes hands-on learning through study abroad opportunities and specialized concentrations, with juniors typically completing internships or field research at one of NYU's global campuses. Seniors undertake original thesis projects, equipping them for graduate studies or international careers in fields ranging from finance and media to humanitarian work.
