As the world becomes more digitally focused, designers face the ongoing challenge of developing tech-based solutions across multiple platforms to address diverse human requirements. The Digital Product Design specialization within the Communication Design master's program equips students with modern conceptual approaches and strategic design techniques to fulfill this rising industry need. This focused curriculum includes hands-on coding practice and emphasizes collaborative working approaches.
The intensive program structure rests on four key elements: advanced design skill development, methodology courses, external collaborations, and a core studio progression. Students investigate cutting-edge composition techniques, visualization approaches, interactive systems, typographic principles, and current industry standards.
Those completing the MPS in Communication Design cultivate a distinctive, progressive design perspective while mastering professional capabilities such as business development, strategic workflow processes, and modern prototyping techniques. Program graduates build careers in interaction design, UX/UI development, digital product creation, and product management at both emerging companies and established technology firms, as well as within digital innovation groups at organizations like MoMA and The New York Times. Some alumni continue their education in design research or human-computer interaction studies.
