The Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering provides graduate programs culminating in M.E., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees, specializing in chemical engineering. Program admission follows the Graduate School's general requirements, with the GRE General Test mandatory for all candidates. Graduate students must achieve at least a B- grade in all engineering courses.
Students must choose a thesis or dissertation advisor before completing their first year in the chemical engineering graduate program. Special arrangements allow thesis/dissertation work to be conducted off-campus at industrial locations.
Funding opportunities include graduate teaching and research assistantships, fellowships, and traineeships. To be considered for financial aid, complete applications must be submitted by March 1. All financial support depends on funding availability, eligibility criteria, and maintaining satisfactory academic progress.
