The Department's goal is to train public health professionals for service in communities throughout New Mexico and other U.S. regions. Housed within the College of Health and Social Services (CHSS), it plays a vital role in advancing NMSU's land-grant commitment to community service and engagement, particularly in enhancing health outcomes for diverse rural, border, and tribal populations. Our faculty, staff, and students embody essential public health principles including equity, diversity, inclusion, social justice, and fairness. These core values guide our efforts to reduce persistent health inequities while educating future public health leaders and scholars.
