This program mandates at least 3 credit hours, including 15 credits from the School of Teacher Preparation, Administration and Leadership core curriculum and 18 credits from a specialized teaching concentration (typically within the College of Arts & Sciences) at the 450-level or higher. Designed as a non-licensure program, it serves educators who currently hold teaching certification but wish to advance their education, focus on a particular teaching discipline, and obtain a master's degree. All professional coursework must be completed through the School of Teacher Preparation, Administration and Leadership, concluding with a comprehensive written assessment. Alternatively, students may opt to complete a thesis instead of taking the final examination.
