Degrees offered
Bachelor's Degree
The Spanish degree program mandates completion of at least 36 credits, with 30 credits at the 500-level and the remaining credits above 450. Coursework should focus on the student's selected specialization (either linguistics or literature), as comprehensive exams will assess knowledge from reading lists specific to each field. While writing a thesis is optional, those approved for this option may apply up to 6 thesis credits toward their degree requirements. Currently, online-exclusive students cannot pursue the thesis option. No core courses are presently required, allowing students to collaborate with their advisor and the Graduate Director to develop a personalized degree pathway.
