The School of Nursing (SON) at NMSU provides a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program with two distinct pathways: one for students new to nursing and another for those holding a bachelor's degree in another field. Graduates from both tracks qualify to take the NCLEX-RN exam to become registered nurses after completing their studies. This BSN program is additionally available at NMSU's satellite campuses in Grants and Alamogordo, New Mexico. The program holds approval from the New Mexico Board of Nursing and maintains accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). New Mexico Board of Nursing approval is mandatory for graduates to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensing exam, while CCNE accreditation guarantees the program meets rigorous national educational benchmarks for both students and employers.
