The Department of Criminal Justice provides both in-person and online course options.
This criminal justice program features a multidisciplinary approach, incorporating studies from humanities, law, natural sciences, behavioral sciences, and social sciences. The coursework blends theoretical exploration with practical applications.
Students gain qualifications for various career paths including law enforcement, correctional services, juvenile justice, victim advocacy, nonprofit criminal justice organizations, and forensic fields. Many alumni have excelled in law school and advanced social science programs. The bachelor's program requires a minimum of 33 major credits, with at least 27 being upper-level courses (excluding CJUS 393 Internship in Criminal Justice).
An interdisciplinary Forensic Sciences minor is also available. Prospective minors should schedule an advising session with the department chair.

Qualification Requirements

Students who meet the minimum high school course requirements of the state from which they receive their high school diploma must meet one of the following criteria in order to be admitted:

Cumulative high school GPA of 2.75, or
ACT composite score of 21 or SAT score of 1060, or
Ranked in the top 20 percent of their high school graduating class or
A GED cumulative score of 480 or HiSET cumulative score of 45
