To fulfill the Creative Writing major requirements, students must meet the English basic skills prerequisite and complete 42 credits in English courses beyond ENGL 1110G Composition I. Additionally, students must satisfy all University degree requirements, including General Education, Viewing a Wider World, and elective credits to reach a minimum of 120 total credits (with at least 48 credits at the 300-level or above). Note that developmental courses don't count toward degree requirements or electives, though they may be necessary prerequisites for required English and Mathematics courses.

Students who meet the minimum high school course requirements of the state from which they receive their high school diploma must meet one of the following criteria in order to be admitted:

A GED cumulative score of 480 or HiSET cumulative score of 45
