As an Architecture school embedded in a research-focused university, we serve as a hub for groundbreaking ideas. Our research-oriented faculty enables students to partner on emerging fields ranging from nanotechnology to augmented and virtual reality, while pushing boundaries in robotics and digital fabrication. The curriculum aligns with professional accreditation standards. Students in the Professional M. Arch. program undertake a foundational core sequence encompassing architectural history, integrated building systems, and digital design tools as progressive prerequisites for the initial four design studios. Following this core, students can choose from various design studios and elective courses to specialize in areas like urban design, sustainability, or advanced computational design.
An accelerated track is offered through advanced placement for candidates holding pre-professional architecture degrees or related fields, or those with non-NAAB accredited Bachelor of Architecture degrees. Both full-time and part-time study options exist. Beyond completing their personalized study plan (determined by transcript and portfolio evaluation), all students must meet minimum credit thresholds for NAAB accreditation. Typically, this exceeds the baseline requirement of 168 combined undergraduate/graduate credits and 30 graduate-level credits.
