The objectives for biology undergraduates outline key knowledge domains and competencies. The Biological Sciences Faculty have determined these as fundamental for every biology student to attain prior to completing their degree.
Students will develop this understanding and related abilities through a curriculum framework that directs them through mandatory core classes, adaptable breadth requirement courses, and personalized elective options within the Biological Sciences Department. Students should recognize that comprehensive learning isn't attained through any individual class, but rather through cumulative academic engagement and knowledge retention across the entire program's coursework.

All first-year students who apply to NJIT must submit an official high school transcript in English. When evaluating your application for undergraduate admission, we are interested in understanding how you challenged yourself relative to the curriculum that was available at your school and the trends in your performanceespecially your grades in math, science and English.
Your completed coursework should include English Composition, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Chemistry and Physics. We also consider the GPA (Grade Point Average) that is indicated on your high school transcript. We generally look for students in the top 25% of their class. For schools that don't use a ranking system, we consider a 3.0 GPA or higher to be the equivalent.
