The Public Health Science transfer degree program at Mt San Antonio College blends multiple scientific disciplines, with a strong foundation in biology, to equip students for advancement into university-level public health studies and related healthcare fields. Graduates of this program will demonstrate advanced health knowledge while exploring diverse academic areas. This curriculum enhances students' awareness of environmental health connections, assesses how shifting population trends affect healthcare economics, teaches disease detection and containment methods, and fosters strategies to encourage wellness practices.
To obtain an Associate in Science in Public Health Science for transfer, candidates must fulfill 60 transferable semester units acceptable to the CSU system, including either IGETC or CSU GE requirements plus 18 major-specific units. A minimum 2.0 GPA in all transferable courses is required, with all major courses completed at a C grade or higher. Transfer degree recipients are exempt from additional local graduation mandates. Pass grades satisfy major requirements when courses are taken under Pass/No Pass grading options.
