After successfully finishing the Associate in Science in Film, Television, and Electronic Media for Transfer program at Mt. San Antonio College, graduates will have shown mastery of foundational knowledge across all aspects of television and film production. This includes the industry's historical context, business operations, legal framework, screenwriting, visual and audio design principles, as well as both live and recorded production methods, plus post-production processes. The program equips students for professional roles in film, television, advertising, and digital media as writers, directors, production staff, editors, post-production specialists, and producers. These courses meet California State University's lower-division prerequisites, ensuring guaranteed admission with junior standing to CSU programs in Radio-TV-Film, Film and Electronic Arts, Television Production, Film Production, Cinema, Screenwriting, and Producing.
To obtain this transfer degree, students must complete 60 transferable semester units following either the IGETC or CSU GE breadth requirements, including an 18-unit major specialization. A minimum 2.0 GPA in all transferable coursework is required, with all major courses completed at a C grade or higher. Transfer degree recipients are exempt from additional local graduation requirements.
