The Film and Media Studies program provides students with a chance to examine cinema, television, and digital arts as both artistic expressions and cultural forces. Learners can pursue a minor, concentration, or bachelor's degree in this field. Production courses may be completed through other University departments for credit. Graduates find diverse career paths in areas like: Journalism across print and digital platforms, Arts administration and museum curation, Film archiving and preservation, Information science, Digital content creation. Some alumni continue their education in specialized film/TV programs focusing on production roles such as directing, cinematography, or screenwriting, while others undertake advanced studies in media analysis and scholarship.
Postgraduate options also include media-related legal studies and business ventures.
The program facilitates internships with domestic and international broadcasters and media companies.
Participants may join the Art New York initiative, spending a semester interning at leading cultural organizations while completing coursework in NYC.
Study abroad opportunities are available for semesters, summers, or full academic years.
The BA program offers two specialization paths:
Critical Studies Pathway, Creative Production Pathway
