The Master of Arts (MA) in Music with a focus on Music Therapy blends psychological support and research coursework, covering areas like evaluation methods, clinical improvisation, group therapy (both experiential and client-focused), along with instruction and supervision training. These classes incorporate hands-on practice, allowing students to develop professional writing skills through thesis seminars, two specialized electives, and a culminating thesis project. Established in 1969, our program has built a reputation as a diverse, well-rounded music therapy curriculum. We're proud to offer outstanding clinical placement opportunities, personalized academic guidance, and access to distinguished faculty—both within our music therapy program and across related disciplines like gerontology, child development, psychology, learning disorders, special education, and behavioral neuroscience.
