The Alternative Route Teacher Certification Program (P-12) is a 24-credit curriculum that results in New Jersey state teaching certification. Structured as a two-year on-campus program, the Alternative Route allows participants to balance full-time teaching positions while fulfilling academic requirements. Through this program, educators develop essential teaching competencies such as: subject matter expertise and teaching methods, child development knowledge, lesson design, classroom instruction techniques, professional learning environments, and teamwork and leadership skills.

The Graduate School requires the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree in order to be eligible to apply for a graduate program.
