The Bachelor of Arts in Educational Foundations for Elementary Teachers equips students for careers in education, offering a pathway to elementary teaching certification (Kindergarten through Grade 6). This program covers learning theories, assessment methods, human development, and explores significant social, historical, and philosophical influences on American education. It strengthens students' foundational knowledge in core subjects like Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, ensuring graduates possess the academic preparation needed for elementary teaching positions.
Unlike other degree programs, ours offers a focused, interdisciplinary approach requiring just 120 credit hours to graduate. While admission to the Teacher Education program is a distinct process not guaranteed by major enrollment, our curriculum smoothly aligns with K-6 certification requirements. For students not seeking certification, the program includes 27 credit hours of free electives, allowing for potential dual majors or minors.
