The Department of Physics and Astronomy provides diverse degree pathways. Each program includes foundational courses that build essential physics knowledge while honing analytical and problem-solving abilities. Students can pursue a standard physics major, specialize in astronomy, or follow a pre-med track. We also provide multiple educator preparation programs for K-12 physics and science instruction. Our accelerated five-year options allow students to earn both a BS in Physics and either an MS in Applied Mathematics, an MBA, a Master of Arts in Teaching (with certification in Physics or Physical Science), or a Mechanical Engineering Master's from Stevens Institute. Many undergraduate degrees naturally satisfy the Mathematics minor requirements. Interested in physics but not changing majors? Explore our Physics minor option.
