The John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University proudly presents an exclusive advanced certification program tailored for K-12 music educators. This curriculum is carefully crafted to meet the needs of contemporary music teachers, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. Graduates will earn a certificate and academic transcript documenting 15 graduate-level credit hours. To obtain the advanced certificate, participants must finish all required credits within a 15-month timeframe. Additionally, 12 credits may be applied toward the Master of Arts in Music Education degree program.

Qualification Requirements

The Graduate School requires the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree in order to be eligible to apply for a graduate program.
Transcript: One from each college attended.
Teacher Certification: Music (standard or alternate route).
A minimum TOEFL score of at least 83 on the internet-based test (iBT) or 62 on the paper-based test (pBT).
For IELTS test takers, the minimum required score is 6.5.
