The Master of Science in statistics program at Montana State University provides students with a strong foundation in statistical theory and practical experience applying statistical methods to real-world challenges. This program equips graduates for either advanced academic pursuits or professional roles in academia, industry, business, or government sectors. Upon admission, students consult with the Graduate Program Committee to align their initial coursework with career goals. By the second semester, each student establishes a Graduate Committee to collaboratively design a customized course plan.
Entering graduate students will have completed a bachelor’ s degree in food and nutrition, agricultural science, environmental or food studies or a related discipline. Appropriate background coursework would include: human nutrition, ecology, economics, culinary fundamentals or food science, microbiology, community nutrition, and political science.
