To earn a Ph.D. in Engineering, students must fulfill all general program requirements. Based on individual academic backgrounds and objectives, the advisory committee may mandate extra coursework. The student and their committee will collaboratively choose specific courses that align with the research focus. With committee approval, up to 24 graded credits from a completed M.S. degree may count toward the Ph.D. requirements. Research areas include geotechnical, structural, transportation, environmental, and water resources engineering, as well as construction management.
A bachelor's degree (or higher) or the equivalent from an accredited, government-recognized university. These degrees are generally four-year-long programs. B average or higher from your undergraduate study (3.0/4.0 GPA, or equivalent).
