Plant Science provides a solid foundation in liberal arts while delivering an in-depth grasp of the scientific concepts that govern plant biology. As the cornerstone of terrestrial life, plant systems play a vital economic role. Contemporary plant science spans numerous fields, influencing sectors ranging from agriculture and biotechnology to landscape management. Faculty advisors and instructors actively conduct research in their specialties while guiding students. Through structured coursework, students master cutting-edge knowledge and techniques, supplemented by hands-on training in departmental labs, greenhouses, and experimental farms. The program promotes extended learning opportunities through faculty research positions, seasonal employment, and internships with both corporate and governmental organizations.
Freshmen will be considered for admission on the basis of their secondary school record and their English proficiency. Applicants who can prove their English language proficiency and have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.5/4.0 on a U.S. scale will qualify for admission.
