Montana State University's Hospitality Management program equips students with the expertise needed to excel in the growing hospitality sector at local, regional, national, and international levels. Offering three specialized tracks (Food Enterprise, Lodging and Facilities Management, and Restaurant Management: Farm-to-Table), the program provides a hands-on, multidisciplinary education. Students explore subjects ranging from food science and culinary techniques to business principles and agricultural studies, alongside specialized hospitality classes focused on sustainable practices and exceptional guest experiences. Each concentration features practical training components, including fieldwork that combines service learning with real-world problem solving through community partnerships. Internships are also integrated into all program options, guaranteeing graduates possess the hands-on experience necessary to stand out in the job market.
Freshmen will be considered for admission on the basis of their secondary school record and their English proficiency. Applicants who can prove their English language proficiency and have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.5/4.0 on a U.S. scale will qualify for admission.
