Sociology examines human social interactions and how societal structures shape individual actions. Montana State's General Sociology curriculum provides students with comprehensive foundational knowledge, enabling them to tailor their studies to specific interests. Potential focus areas encompass social disparities, family dynamics, corporate environments, advertising strategies, community support systems, healthcare fields, or legal studies. The program offers one specialized track: Criminology. Students may also pursue Sociology as a secondary academic concentration.
Freshmen will be considered for admission on the basis of their secondary school record and their English proficiency. Applicants who can prove their English language proficiency and have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.5/4.0 on a U.S. scale will qualify for admission.
