This certificate program welcomes applicants with bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degrees in Geology, Geophysics, Geological Engineering, Geotechnics, or Civil Engineering, as well as current graduate students in these disciplines at Missouri S&T. Participants must complete four specified courses (outlined in the curriculum) with a minimum 3.0 GPA across all certificate coursework. Students have a three-year completion window from their admission date to fulfill all requirements.

Transcripts (in English) from all colleges and universities attended. All unofficial copies of transcripts and scores can be uploaded to your online application for S&T to review. Upon arrival on campus, you must request that an official copy of your transcript(s) to be sent to us directly from your previous university's registrar's office and all official scores reported directly from the respective testing agency. Once we receive the official documents, we will verify them. If there are any discrepancies between the unofficial documents you submitted, Missouri S&T will withdraw your admission and you will not be allowed to apply to S&T in the future.

Admission as a regular graduate student is normally limited to those who ranked in the upper third of their baccalaureate graduating class or who have done quality work at the graduate level. For this requirement, a cumulative B average (3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale), or a B average (3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale) for the student's last sixty credit hours of undergraduate coursework is considered equivalent to an upper one-third standing.
