The Master of Natural Resources Stewardship (MNRS) is a professional, coursework-focused graduate program designed for individuals with previous experience in natural resources or agriculture. Any relevant experience, whether volunteer work, employment, or other involvement, is taken into account. The program aims to deliver comprehensive natural resources training while allowing specialization in one of four areas: Ecological Restoration, Forest Sciences, Rangeland Ecology and Management, or Western Ranch Management and Ecosystem Stewardship.
Students can finish this master's program in as little as three semesters (1.5 years) of full-time study or extend it up to 5 years. Those studying on campus typically need at least 2 years (four semesters) since many courses are offered biennially. Some classes have prerequisites that new students might need to fulfill first. Consequently, program duration varies based on each student's academic background and chosen coursework.
