As a participant in this program, your coursework will center on essential petroleum engineering classes, supplemented by additional courses tailored to your research focus.

The petroleum engineering department provides master of science, doctor of philosophy, and doctor of engineering degree options. For the master's program, students may choose between a thesis or non-thesis track.
Graduate studies in petroleum engineering lead to master of science, doctor of philosophy, or doctor of engineering degrees, with the master's program offering both thesis and non-thesis pathways.

While the program particularly welcomes applicants with petroleum engineering bachelor's degrees, it also admits graduate students from other engineering disciplines like chemical, mechanical, or geological engineering. These students may need to complete foundational petroleum engineering courses during their master's studies. Applicants with geology or geophysics backgrounds must fulfill all core engineering course requirements for an engineering degree.
