Mechanical engineering represents the most comprehensive of all engineering fields, with the mechanical engineer's role now extending far beyond conventional automotive and manufacturing sectors.
Our graduates are highly sought after by premier employers nationwide. While earning your mechanical engineering degree, you will acquire practical experience through design courses, laboratory work, and research possibilities. You will also have the chance to participate in numerous top-tier design teams, such as Miner Racing and the Human Powered Vehicle team.
As an incoming student, you'll progress through standard first-year courses while gathering information to assist in selecting your major and career path. During your initial two or three semesters on campus, you will complete a curriculum required by all engineering departments. After successfully meeting the first-year academic requirements, you will formally apply for admission to the mechanical and aerospace engineering department. Admission is virtually guaranteed upon completion of these prerequisites.
