The biology department provides both Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degree programs. The B.S. track, chosen by most students, equips graduates for professional roles in biology or advanced studies like medical school, graduate programs, and related fields. Within the B.S. program, students can specialize in medical laboratory science. The B.A. program offers two concentrations: pre-medicine and secondary education.
Biological sciences explore all aspects of life and living organisms. Those passionate about biology can access diverse career paths and academic opportunities. Learners may select between B.S. or B.A. degree paths, each featuring specialized coursework in three key disciplines: 1) cellular and molecular biology, 2) environmental ecology and conservation, or 3) health sciences.
All biology majors complete foundational courses covering introductory biology, biodiversity, cell biology, evolutionary principles, genetics, and ecological studies. Specialized upper-level classes in focus areas allow for deeper exploration, preparing students for professional work or various postgraduate pathways.
