The School of Human Sciences provides a Master of Science program in Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) featuring two specialization tracks: (1) Design & Product Development and (2) Merchandising. The FDM program takes an interdisciplinary perspective to examine design, product creation, fashion enterprises, consumer psychology, and associated fields within the framework of fashion's societal role. The curriculum covers specialized domains including fashion creation, product innovation, consumer studies, fabric science, historical attire, retail management, and global commerce. Alumni will emerge as pioneering figures in the worldwide fashion network—spanning textiles, clothing, and retail sectors—while driving economic progress in industries that enhance global living standards. Graduates will also contribute to research and policy development concerning the fashion industry, expanding the impact of academic research in real-world applications and influencing government policies affecting the fashion sector. This program equips students with comprehensive knowledge of the fashion and retail landscape, consumer patterns, product innovation, business fundamentals, and technological implementations. Participants choose to focus on either Design and Product Development or Merchandising.
