The Department of Political Science and Public Administration provides two distinct options for earning a Master of Public Policy and Administration (MPPA) degree: an in-person campus program and a fully online alternative. Applicants must select their preferred format when applying, though admission requirements remain identical for both. With an excellent faculty-to-student ratio, the MPPA program fosters close mentorship opportunities. Our six faculty members conduct extensive research, and many bring direct government experience to the classroom. Each year, we welcome 35-50 students from across Mississippi and numerous other states. The program holds accreditation from the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA). True to our mission, the MPPA program works to enhance professionalism and representation in Mississippi's state and local governments while equipping graduates for impactful careers in public administration at all government levels.
