The Bagley College of Engineering oversees the Materials Certificate/Endorsement Program, designed for eligible students who finish a structured curriculum in the multidisciplinary area of materials science and engineering at Mississippi State University.

Various departments at the University provide numerous materials-focused courses spanning both scientific and engineering disciplines, covering subjects like biomaterials, electronic and semiconductor materials, composites, polymers, metals, ceramics, and construction materials. Additionally, we offer extensive supplementary courses in materials modeling, mechanics, processing, and characterization, plus specialized topics such as fatigue, fracture, and corrosion.

Through a coordinated study plan, which includes Directed Study courses guided by a Materials Faculty Member, students can engage in a customized interdisciplinary education and training program that aligns with their personal interests.

Both traditional and non-traditional students can enroll in the Materials Certificate/Endorsement Program. This enables industries to provide employees with advanced materials training and gives current university students the chance to develop expertise in an interdisciplinary materials specialty.
