Geographers examine how cultural and physical characteristics are arranged across our planet. By adopting a spatial viewpoint, they explore the reasons behind locations, human-environment interactions, the evolution of physical and cultural elements through space and time, and what gives regions their unique identities. This geographical approach is particularly valuable as it applies to all scales, from neighborhood-level to worldwide.
The Geosciences Department provides undergraduate and graduate degree programs with a geography focus. Beyond core Geoscience coursework, Geography Track students complete 28 credit hours in subjects like cultural geography, cartography, remote sensing, GIS, and various human and physical geography classes. This specialized track allows students to customize their studies based on individual interests in either physical or human geography.
