The Department of Computer Studies & Information Technology (CSIT) offers computer-focused courses for students at various skill levels, from foundational to advanced career training. Our programs emphasize computing principles, practical applications, IT systems, and network technologies, equipping students with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills to analyze and resolve business, networking, and security challenges. We also provide general education courses examining technology's societal and ethical implications. Students can obtain associate degrees by fulfilling certificate requirements and MiraCosta College's general education criteria for the Associate in Science degree (refer to Associate Degrees section).
