The nursing curriculum is structured to equip students with a robust theoretical and practical foundation for professional nursing practice. Graduates are trained for diverse community roles, encompassing health promotion, disease prevention, and care for individuals, families, and communities across various settings like hospitals, clinics, and homes. A deep comprehension of human behavior and environmental adaptation is crucial for delivering effective healthcare. Those completing the Pre-licensure program are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses, and passing this exam grants them RN licensure. Nursing majors also fulfill Minnesota's requirements for public health nurse certification and school nurse licensure.
The Nursing BS program prepares students for RN licensure exams through a family-centered curriculum featuring varied clinical placements and simulation training. This approach fosters evidence-based practice with solid clinical and theoretical knowledge. Our emphasis is on shaping students into respected healthcare team members capable of serving diverse patient populations.
