Earth Science centers on Earth Systems Science—a multidisciplinary area examining our planet's interconnected natural systems, including the atmosphere, biosphere, cryosphere, geosphere, hydrosphere, pedosphere, and humanity's cosmic context. To investigate Earth's chemical, physical, and biological processes, the curriculum incorporates Anthropology, Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Geology, and Physics. Students gain workforce and graduate school readiness through comprehensive interdisciplinary training, hands-on fieldwork, lab experience, and classroom learning, with an emphasis on current environmental and societal challenges. The program offers three specialized undergraduate certificates: Geomorphology and Earth Surface Processes (Earth Science), Geoarcheology (Anthropology), and Geographic Information Science (Geography). In-depth exploration of Earth's systems is also available through related disciplines like Anthropology, Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Geology, and Physics.
