MSU's Special Education master's program equips future leaders to support students with disabilities in schools and communities. This program enhances expertise across multiple specialized areas of special education. The Master of Education in Special Education aims to develop professionals capable of guiding their institutions and communities in delivering exceptional services to students with disabilities.
Designed for Texas-certified special education teachers, this program trains Educational Diagnosticians to leverage their leadership in serving students with disabilities. Graduates meeting degree requirements become eligible for professional certification after passing the state-mandated TExES exam for Educational Diagnosticians.
This graduate program empowers educators with advanced leadership skills to better serve students with disabilities in both school and community settings. The curriculum deepens understanding across various specialized domains of special education. With coordinator approval, students pursuing Educational Leadership with a Special Education focus can simultaneously complete coursework for diagnostician certification.
The dyslexia-focused track prepares educators to work with individuals affected by dyslexia and related conditions. Graduates become eligible for professional certification after successfully completing the Academic Language Therapists Association (ALTA) comprehensive exam, earning the Licensed Dyslexia Therapist (LDT) designation upon passing.
