MSU's Biology master's program equips students to develop into autonomous, critical thinkers with extensive scientific research experience. The program offers an ideal learning setting, featuring a remarkable 2:5 student-to-professor ratio that faculty take pride in. This fosters approachable professors, easier access to guidance, and personalized support for students engaged in thesis work. With limited program size, graduate and teaching assistantships face less competition compared to larger institutions. Alumni frequently apply their expertise across diverse professional fields.
The Biology Graduate Program provides intimate class sizes, state-of-the-art lab resources, and dedicated faculty committed to delivering top-tier education. Our graduate curriculum aims to introduce students to wide-ranging biological subjects, build upon undergraduate foundations, and nurture independent thinking and scientific research skills. The MA in Biology comprises 30 credit hours, including 12 core credits and 18 electives. A key component is BIOL 6113 Scientific Literature and Research, a 3-credit core course involving personalized literature analysis.
