The Program awards a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene (BSDH) degree. State-licensed Dental Hygienists undergo rigorous academic and clinical training in preventive oral healthcare. These professionals deliver diverse services and can explore multiple career paths such as clinical practice, administration/management, teaching, advocacy, research, and organizational leadership. The Dental Hygiene Department's OBJECTIVES align with Midwestern State University's educational mission and community engagement, aiming to positively impact society through professional and personal contributions. Qualification Requirements
International freshman applicants must meet the following admission criteria:
Diploma with equivalent curriculum to that of a U.S. high school.
Official Transcripts must be received from all institutions in which the student has previously enrolled (high school and each college or university).
Be eligible for admission to M.S.U.
Submit a dental hygiene application and most recent transcripts from previous Universities. Attach copies of transcripts from each college/university attended. (unofficial copies are acceptable) (MSU students do not need to send your MSU transcript) All transcripts must depict completed courses, as well as courses in progress. Send application to the Dental Hygiene Department, along with a $25.00 application fee. Dental Hygiene applications can be downloaded from the MSU Dental Hygiene website.
Present a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater on BSDH core/prerequisite course work.

Provide documentation of work experience, or 20 hours of observation, in a dental office using our observation form. (see ranking computation). Documentation form is listed with the application form.
