This 10-month Dental Assisting Program provides comprehensive training through lectures, labs, and clinical rotations. Upon completion, students become eligible to take both California's Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) licensing exam and the national Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification. The curriculum covers general and specialized dental procedures, including hands-on externships at dental schools, private practices, and clinics. Participants will earn certifications in key areas like infection control, radiography, coronal polishing, and sealant application.
Program graduates will master foundational skills approved by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and California's Dental Board.
Students will learn to prioritize radiation safety for themselves, patients, and colleagues.
Career paths include chairside assisting in general dentistry or specialties like orthodontics, oral surgery, or pediatric dentistry. Graduates may also pursue roles in dental office administration, public health education, sales, or dental consulting services.
