The Juanita and Ralph Harvey School of Visual Arts at Midwestern State University provides diverse studio programs in modern facilities. Every discipline focuses on thorough instruction of hands-on abilities, studio methods, and artistic principles essential for producing fine artwork. The gallery showcases collective and individual shows by artists with regional and national recognition throughout the academic year, including the spring and summer Annual Student Exhibition. Each fall and spring semester, the Harvey School of Visual Arts organizes various workshops and lectures via its Visiting Artist Program. Educational excursions to Dallas and Fort Worth museums, galleries, and private studios enhance the comprehensive learning experience. The school presents three degree paths: The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) caters to students pursuing an art major with a minor in another discipline. The Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) provides an intensive curriculum for those aiming for graduate studies or professional artistic careers. K-12 teaching certification is also available as an addition to the B.F.A. degree.
