The automotive sector is experiencing a growing demand for skilled engineers to transition toward electric propulsion systems. Michigan Tech's Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) program helps address this need through comprehensive coursework featuring cutting-edge theory and practical laboratory experience in HEV design, performance analysis, control systems, and calibration. Both degree-seeking and non-degree students can enroll in these courses at undergraduate or graduate levels. Launched with a $3 million DOE grant and $750,000 in industry support, Michigan Tech's groundbreaking HEV program—among the nation's first—is available through on-campus, online, and even mobile learning formats, including their innovative mobile classroom.
