The mechanical engineering-engineering mechanics PhD program organizes its curriculum around four core disciplines: design and dynamic systems, thermofluid energy systems, industrial manufacturing, and solid mechanics. The program strongly emphasizes hands-on laboratory work, industry collaborations, and cross-disciplinary research for graduate students. Our research concentrates on five primary domains: next-generation power systems, multi-scale sensor technologies, interdisciplinary dynamic engineering systems, multi-scale material mechanics, and aerospace systems.
