For more than seven decades, the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science has been preparing exceptional undergraduates and graduates. Alumni from these programs are in high demand for tackling critical technological and social challenges. Faculty members commit to delivering excellent classroom teaching and cutting-edge research, specializing in energy sustainability, advanced materials and nanotechnology, and biotechnology. The department provides two Bachelor of Science degrees: chemical engineering and materials science engineering. The curriculum teaches students to transform basic materials into valuable end products. Through their studies, they gain expertise in analyzing industrial processes and understanding how these operations, from large-scale to molecular levels, influence product characteristics. The program cultivates professionals who grasp technical production elements, recognize engineering's environmental and socioeconomic effects, and embrace continuous education.
