Engineered to equip graduates for professional paths in industry, government, or academic institutions, the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program focuses on generating and uncovering novel insights through rigorous independent investigation. This involves developing hypotheses, analyzing research findings, and deriving fundamental principles that enable future predictions. A key component includes effectively communicating and defending research outcomes. Given MSEN's interdisciplinary approach, students can pursue diverse specialization areas within both research and curriculum.

This cross-disciplinary initiative welcomes candidates from various backgrounds such as aerospace engineering, biology, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering, and physics.
